Hopewell Church Ride
Location: 12018 Guinea Dr, Woodford, VA 22580
Come out and ride with us from Hopewell Methodist Church in Woodford, Va. Situated in a rural area just over the Spotsylvania County line, Hopewell allows us to branch out in multiple directions on safe, scenic, country roads. April through November, we break into multiple groups based on rider speed and distances. Slower groups generally go 20 to 36 miles at a 14-15mph pace, while faster riders opt for longer distances of at least 40 miles at a 16-18 mph pace.
During the normal riding season, Saturday rides feature the official No-Drop ride; however, all groups keep an eye out for newer riders and try to wait at intersections for anyone who is close behind. Look forward to riding with you!

I plan for us to meet at the main entrance on River Road and ride the Snuffleupagus Trail (1.9Mile) loop. This will be an introductory ride to Mott's Run and mountain biking skills. Those that want to do the loop again may or may want to side track to the Duff Green Trail or Olde Towne Trail. With this plan everyone should be able to get the amount of riding in that they want to try. Any gravel type bike or the like will work on the Snuffleupagus Trail.
Helmets are required. Mott's Run is a ride at your own risk trail. Sign in and acknowledgement of waiver a must to ride with the club for this ride.

This is the Thursday Caroline ride from the Caroline County Community Center AKA old Union High School.
There will be a new route posted every week from 35-45 miles in length.
There are restrooms inside the Community Center. They are generally open before 9am, but if not go to the Health center on the south side of the building. They are open at 8am and have been very good to us.
Some of the routes use a short stretch of 301 between Sparta road and the starting location either outgoing or on the return. We have never experienced an issue on this road.
This is the route for Thursday 9 May 2024. There are no stores on this route, but churches with water are noted on the file.

This is the FCC annual Memorial Day ride. Ride leaders for each route needed!
The ride starts and ends at the Caroline County Community Center AKA the old Union High School. All three routes follow the same roads for the first 12 miles and the last 12 miles which provides some safety overlap. The 27-mile route will be NO DROP.
Since this is a holiday the buildings will not be open and therefore no restrooms at the start. Please plan accordingly. (The closest convenience stores do not allow rest room access. There is a Mcdonald's in BG and the rest rooms at Caroline Park on Devil's Three Jump road is not far).
There will be no manned rest stops. We have confirmed that the 600 Market which is on the 46 (mile 19) and 65 mile routes (mile 38) is now open on Mondays. The 65 milers will have that store as well as Dick's Country store (mile 33) at the intersection of route 30 and Edgar road. The 46 and the 65 will also have the Frog Level store to access if needed. Frog Level is just slightly off the route at the crossing of 301. There are no stores on the 27 mile route.
