Tuesday Evening Ride!
Pace: ABCD
Location:
Mormon Church
20 Boscobel Rd.
Fredericksburg, VA 22405
Please park at the back of the church in the parking area on the left. There are no restroom facilities available, so plan accordingly. The average pace for this ride is between 13 mph to 19 mph depending on the riders that show up. The route is well marked at the turn points. The majority of the ride is on back roads that don't have a lot of vehicle traffic and are safe.
Please do not change clothes outside of your car because they have youth events that occur on some ride evenings.

Hopewell Church Ride
Location: 12018 Guinea Dr, Woodford, VA 22580
Come out and ride with us from Hopewell Methodist Church in Woodford, Va. Situated in a rural area just over the Spotsylvania County line, Hopewell allows us to branch out in multiple directions on safe, scenic, country roads. April through November, we break into multiple groups based on rider speed and distances. Slower groups generally go 20 to 36 miles at a 14-15mph pace, while faster riders opt for longer distances of at least 40 miles at a 16-18 mph pace.
During the normal riding season, Saturday rides feature the official No-Drop ride; however, all groups keep an eye out for newer riders and try to wait at intersections for anyone who is close behind. Look forward to riding with you!
We are no longer using or maintaining the former "marked" routes from Hopewell. We have certain canned routes that the ride leaders may choose or the group can determine where they want to ride. We will put the RWGPS files on the Hopewell calendar soon. "Standard" i.e. frequently used routes include:
1. The 28-mile to Nancy Wright's with a return via Sunshine School and Bethel Church. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48803731
2. The 33-mile to Quarters road with a return via Sunshine School and Bethel Church. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48803773
3. The 38 mile route to Bowling Green. Hey! This is a new route.

This is our annual "Leaf Patrol" clean-up of the Bethel Church lawn and cemetery. Bethel church has been a long-time friend of Fredericksburg Cyclists. This is strictly a volunteer activity, but the more who show the faster the job gets done. That said, we generally have a good turnout and the members enjoy the camaraderie shared during the work. Come when you can and stay as long or as short a period as you need.
If you have them, please bring leaf blowers, rakes, weed eaters, small limb loppers and most importantly tarps. We drag the leaves to the tree line behind the church for dumping.
The church's restrooms will be accessible while we are there.
If we get rained out the following Saturday will be the make-up day.

Thursday Variety Pack (Caroline)
This is the first ride of our 2026 Variety Pack season. The Variety Pack is a Thursday am ride which start from one of six rotating locations (Caroline, Hanover, Arrit Park, Chewning, Lenn Park and Remington).
This route is an easy old favorite. There is a shorter option for those who want to not go as far. It is 37 miles with an alternate of 29 miles.
The Caroline Community Center has rest rooms and should be open. If you get there early, go around to the south side of the building and go into the Health Center. They have always been good about letting us use the facilities.
This route uses a short stretch of 301 before reaching Sparta road. We have never experienced an issue either coming or going on our Caroline routes which use this stretch.

Paul's History ride #2
This is the first running of this ride for 2026. We selected a Sunday to ensure those who cannot attend a weekday ride have a chance to do these rides.
To avoid some of the hills on the original route, the route for this ride has been modified. The new RWGPS file will be uploaded soon.
The ride will be approximately 20-23 miles at a social, no drop pace with frequent stops for a discussion of the local history and historic properties. Come hear about the eccentric artist Salvador Dali and his feud with the equally talented Anais Nin, the first Courthouse in Caroline county and the extensive Colonial plantation "Hare Forest." We will also pass three of the surviving mid-18th century houses built by Edmund Pendleton.
The ride will follow the history ride route (see RWGPS file below), but may be modified to allow for more open riding and fewer hills.
The Community Center is closed on Sunday so please plan accordingly. There are restrooms at Caroline County park behind the high school, a McDonalds in town and other possible locations. There is no water on the route, but we will have some (and soda) at the end of the ride.

Remington "Variety Pack" Ride
The Remington "Variety Pack' rides leave from the parking on John Stone street in Remington right behind City Hall. Available rest rooms at the Exxon station a block away and perhaps in the City Hall building itself.
This first route is 44 miles, so we have designed a "bail out" shorter route that cuts off 7 miles (continue on Casanova and proceed direct to route 28 crossing over at Calverton.). The former "Bollywood" market at Calverton is now La Chinquita Mart and Deli.
Elk Run store is on the route at 33 miles.
